Either way, they let liquids and gases seep through and can cause contamination.Lavametal F Sealants are anaerobic, which means that they seal with metal contact (such as two threaded parts) in the absence of air-and they stay sealed until you want to undo the assembly. The seal is protection against corrosion within the joint and the loosening of parts due to vibrations and shock loads. But, even with such a highly effective seal, the joint can still be undone with normal tools.
